[subtitle]The design of angled staircases[/subtitle]
The technical study of all staircases is intended to design, independently of the constraints of the stairwell, a staircase that can be climbed with an effort as close as possible to that of the most basic of staircases: the straight flight of steps.

Best practice brings us back to this notion of “the law of least effort”, as do all resulting calculation methods (the proportional rise method, etc.).

However, with the development of industrial tooling, the manufacture of staircases of all types has led to standard production, often having a negative effect on user comfort.

The aim of staircase design software is to reduce the length of time needed for calculations in order to favor the manufacture of customized staircases, combining comfort and aesthetics.

StairDesigner for Windows is an autonomous application dedicated to the design of angled, helicoidal and rounded staircases, designed and developed by BOOLE & PARTNERS.

StairDesigner benefits from several years of renowned experience in the publishing of professional software, as well as in staircase calculation methods and techniques.

StairDesigner particularly relies on the theory of the "narrow-end balancing ratio" drawn up by BOOLE & PARTNERS and successfully used in previous versions.

This theory has been extended to the "Global Balancing" function, which calculates the overall balancing of a multi-flight staircase, whether with one quarter-turn, two quarter-turns or more than three flights of stairs.

StairDesigner enables you to design the four following types of staircases:

- Multi-flight Angled Staircases - Helicoidal Winding Staircases - Polygon Helicoidal Staircases (with cut-off corners) - Rounded Staircases
StairDesigner gives a 3D view of the directly integrated staircase and defines the arcs or cut-off corners between the flights.

Connecting to Cesiom. Once the staircase has been designed with StairDesigner and the geometry has been imported, Cesiom finalizes the work order of the developed stringboards and steps.
